Dewberry, a privately-held professional services firm, has named Sam Fleming, PE, senior water resources project manager in the firm's Atlanta, Georgia, office. In his new role, Fleming will be responsible for the business development and management of municipal government water resources projects.

With over 16 years' experience in civil engineering, Fleming has worked in both the public and private sectors in the areas of water resources, transportation, and site civil engineering. His primary expertise includes stormwater management and stormwater infrastructure planning and design. Fleming's previous experience as chief engineer of Gwinnett County's Stormwater Management Division included leading infrastructure improvements, flood map modernization, National Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) watershed dam rehabilitations, and implementation of the county's stormwater utility. He previously served as a project engineer at Dewberry from 1994-1996.

Fleming earned Master of Science and Bachelor of Science degrees in civil engineering from the University of Alabama. He is a licensed professional engineer in the states of Georgia and Alabama. Fleming is a member of the Georgia Association of Floodplain Management, Georgia Association of Water Professionals, Association of State Dam Safety Officials, and the National Society of Professional Engineers.
