Dewberry announced the promotion of Duncan Hastie, PE, to regional branch manager for water resources. He is based in the firm’s Atlanta, Georgia, office.
Since joining the firm more than 20 years ago, Hastie has held a number of roles in the water resources practice area and most recently served as vice president and deputy branch manager. In his new role as branch manager, he is responsible for managing approximately 50 professionals across eight offices nationally, including in California, Colorado, Georgia, Florida, Louisiana, and North Carolina. Hastie works with a number of municipal, state, federal, and private clients.
“I am thrilled to take on the role of leading our water resources practice,” Hastie states. “We are fortunate to have an exceptional group of professionals in Dewberry’s water resource practice that really help our clients be successful through the use of technology and innovative solutions.”
Hastie earned a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the University of Maryland (1995) and is a professional engineer in Georgia and South Carolina. He is actively involved in numerous professional organizations, including the American Council of Engineering Companies, American Public Works Association, Association of State Floodplain Managers (ASFPM), Georgia Association of Floodplain Managers, Georgia Association of Water Professionals, Society of American Military Engineers, and the Louisiana Floodplain Management Association. Hastie’s industry involvement also includes speaking engagements, most recently during the 2016 ASFPM Annual Conference where he was a panelist during a discussion on the impact partnerships can have across a variety of program areas and project types, including planning and policy, risk assessment and mapping, and project design.
