Carol Holland, PE, CCM, LEED AP, has been named
president of the board of directors for the National Capital Chapter of the
Construction Management Association of America (CMAA).
Holland, a 25-year veteran of the architecture,
engineering, and construction industry, has a proven technical and executive
management track record. She currently holds the role of associate vice
president and market segment leader at Dewberry in its Baltimore, Maryland, office. A Navy veteran and Naval
Academy graduate, Holland served her country through the provision of
facilities engineering services internationally, including assignments in
Japan, Puerto Rico, and the Philippines. She served as the deputy program manager
for the Pentagon renovation program, directly contributing to the on-time,
on-budget renovation of one of the largest and most historic office buildings.
“I look forward to what the next few years hold
for the National Capital Chapter of CMAA. As we look at the architect engineer
construction (AEC) space, construction managers play a vital role in delivering
high-quality projects on time and under budget, which is critical to the
success of our clients,” says Holland. “As I step into this new role, I thank
Cindy Quiroz, our immediate past president, for the passion, dedication, and
integrity she displayed.”
Holland earned a master’s degree in environmental
engineering from the University of California, Berkeley (1995) and a bachelor’s
degree in systems engineering from the U.S. Naval Academy (1989). In addition
to her involvement in CMAA, Holland is a member of the Society of American
Military Engineers (SAME).
