Dewberry, a privately held professional services firm, is designing the new campus center at the University of North Texas Health Science Center. This $25 million project consists of a 90,000-square-foot building designed to LEED® Platinum certification standards.
Design development began in February and will be complete by the end of August. Dewberry is providing all architectural services as well as management of the design team. The schedule to begin construction documentation is yet to be determined.
The building will be delivered through a construction management-at-risk method. Spaces include dining facilities with a full-service kitchen, student lounges, and meeting and office space for student services and student organizations as well as a fitness center.
Deliverables include program verification, schematic design, design development, construction documents, bidding, construction administration, and preparation of record documents. In addition to Dewberry, the design team includes:
- Purdy-McGuire—mechanical/electrical/plumbing engineering
- Datum Gojer Engineers—structural engineering
- Freese and Nichols—civil engineering
- Garthoff Design—landscape architecture
