Dewberry announced that E. Danny Elsner, PE, CPSWQ, CFM, has been hired as department manager for the water resources group in the Denver, Colorado, office. He will focus on supplementing the water and wastewater services offered by the firm's Denver office with stormwater services for the Colorado Front Range area.

Elsner has more than 20 years of experience in engineering major drainage facilities, hydraulic and hydrologic modeling, and designing infiltration and detention ponds, channel improvements, stream restorations, erosion control, and sediment transport. Elsner has knowledge of low-impact design, sustainable development, and LEED requirements and significant experience developing stormwater management plans, including drainage basin planning studies and stormwater best management practices.

Prior to joining Dewberry, Elsner gained extensive experience in the Front Range area as a project manager, client service manager, and department manager, working on Urban Drainage and Flood Control District projects in Denver, Aurora, and Colorado Springs.

Elsner obtained his bachelor's degrees in applied mathematics and computer science and in civil engineering from the Colorado School of Mines (1994), and a master's degree in civil engineering from Colorado State University (2007). He is a licensed professional engineer in Colorado, a certified professional in stormwater quality (CPSWQ), and a certified floodplain manager (CFM). Elsner is a member of the Colorado Association of Stormwater and Floodplain Managers and has served on the organization's board.
