Dewberry has been awarded an on-call contract for engineering design and related services for the New York City Department of Design and Construction’s (NYCDDC) Division of Infrastructure, as part of the Jacobs Civil Consultants Inc./Dewberry Engineers Inc., a Joint Venture agreement.
The firm will provide preliminary design, final
design, and additional professional services on a task order basis for
federally funded infrastructure projects in New York City’s five boroughs:
Brooklyn, Manhattan, Queens, Staten Island, and The Bronx.
NYCDDC selected consultants that consistently
demonstrate design and construction excellence in four concepts: equity,
sustainability, resiliency, and healthy living for this three-year, $30 million
contract. Capital upgrades and improvements will strengthen and protect the
legacy and character of New York City’s neighborhoods using contemporary
standards for safety and environmental durability. Projects may include plaza
design, streets, roadways, retaining walls, sewers, water mains, trunk mains,
green infrastructure or stormwater best management practices, which are
structural, vegetative or managerial practices used to treat, prevent, or
reduce water pollution. The contract includes the potential for federally
funded projects from the Federal Emergency Management Agency, Federal Highway
Administration, Federal Transit Administration, and U.S. Department of Housing
and Urban Development.
