The New Jersey Turnpike Authority’s Interchange 14A connects to the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey’s port commerce area, Route 440, and Port Jersey Boulevard. It serves more than 50,000 vehicles daily, including 6,000 trucks, and congested roadway conditions are expected to worsen in the future.

The $286-million improvement project offers improved access to state routes, doubled capacity on a main connector bridge, and enhanced traffic flow. With these improvements, the interchange is expected to meet future traffic demands through the year 2035 while minimizing environmental impacts.

Dewberry provided highway design, maintenance and protection of traffic, lighting design, temporary lane control system design, bridge widening, retaining wall design, drainage design, pavement design, hazardous waste screening and limited site investigation, wetland delineation, and post-design services.
