Dewberry, a privately held professional services firm, has announced that it has entered into a formal mentor/protégé relationship with Apogee Consulting Group under the U.S. Small Business Administration’s (SBA) Mentor/Protégé Program (MPP). Apogee is a SDVOSB that offers comprehensive mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) engineering, and architectural design and consultation services.
As the mentor, Dewberry will guide Apogee on developing and expanding its sub-consultant network; developing a quality management system to improve change management processes; improving business development processes and capacity to reach new federal clients; and identifying marketing strategies and best practices to compete in the federal market. Both firms bring experience in the federal market. A few of Dewberry’s federal clients include the Administrative Office of the U.S. Courts, Department of Veterans Affairs, General Services Administration, U.S. Air Force, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, and the U.S. Navy.
“We are thrilled to participate in this program with Apogee with a focus on federal healthcare services,” says president of Dewberry’s architecture practice, Dave Huey. He adds, “They have a tremendous amount of experience and an outstanding track record of successfully delivering architectural and MEP design for the Veterans Administration and other government projects. We look forward to supporting them as they expand their network, continue to grow their quality management system, and further develop their business development program. Our shared goals and values will help to create a mutually beneficial partnership.”
Apogee Consulting Group President Michael Beezley, PE, says, “I am very pleased with the relationship we have developed with Dewberry. Our decision to align strategic goals and objectives with Dewberry are strengthened by this mentor-protégé agreement, and we look forward to providing architecture and engineering services to a more diverse federal and private client base.”
The program will run for a duration of three years and be complete in 2027.
