BIM Training at MetroCon

During MetroCon in Dallas this coming August, Kelli Lubeley and I will present a continuing education course that focuses on using Building Information Modeling (BIM) technology to utilize more detailed information in interior design. The advanced course will provide detailed information about the BIM software, including material on additional software plug-ins:

  • Revit DB Link – use to export and import information to and from a Revit model
  • Microsoft Access 2010 – supports implementation of specifying and bidding furniture packages

At Dewberry, we use BIM to generate furniture specification packages for our clients. By using BIM's Revit platform, we can format information contained in a 3D model into cost estimates, room data sheets, bid forms, and specifications. Just about any format required or requested by a client can be generated.

I'm looking forward to sharing my knowledge and experience with my peers at MetroCon. BIM technology is continuously moving forward and I believe it's the future of our industry!
