Dewberry announced that Charlie Newsome has joined the Raleigh, North Carolina, office
as a senior construction manager in the construction group.
Newsome is responsible for leading and developing
the firm’s construction practice in the southeast region, with particular
emphasis on working with its local engineering team in Raleigh to execute
turnkey construction projects for an array of clients, including those in the
healthcare, higher education, and commercial markets.
Newsome joins the firm with more than 35 years of
experience in the construction industry, recently having spent the past 18
years with Riley Contracting Group, Inc. His main areas of expertise include
complex multi-phased construction renovations in occupied healthcare
facilities.
“Charlie has a unique understanding of the
challenges of executing small- and medium-scale renovation and retrofit type
projects in difficult and demanding environments, such as occupied hospitals
and similar facilities,” states Dewberry Associate Vice President Robert
Austin. “His client-first approach fits very well within the Dewberry culture,
and he’s passionate about leading projects to successful outcomes.”

Newsome graduated from North Carolina State
University with a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering with a concentration
on construction (1984).
