Protecting and Serving the Community
Silver Spring, Maryland

The 32,000 SF, 24/7 operational Montgomery County 3rd District Police Station, which includes a detached motorcycle garage and fuel station, was designed for durability while maintaining a high level of creative design. The simple form and clean geometric facades are enriched by design elements and include exterior sun control shading devices. Earth tone colors are accented with the color, blue, as a symbol of police operations. The final design is a strong civic building embodying a character which portrays a sense of purpose for both the Montgomery County Police and the citizens of Montgomery County, while being firmly rooted within the environment in which it is located. As a result, the new 3rd District Police Station provides a functional, comfortable, and efficient space designed with a human scale and with current technology and equipment.
