We supported the Northern Virginia Emergency Response System (NVERS) Active Violence Exercise Series by coordinating logistics, developing presentation materials, and conducting table top exercises for six full-day sessions. In order to gear these training sessions in the right direction, we conducted interviews with multiple chiefs and deputy chiefs of police and fire in northern Virginia. The content of these trainings focused on unified command and other incident command systems (ICS) concepts as well as emerging tactical emergency casualty care and associated hot/warm/cold zone care concepts gaining traction in public safety organizations.
