Our multidisciplinary team is designing a $225 million Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) and diesel fuel bus maintenance facility located adjacent to the "Arborway," part of Boston's historic Emerald Necklace chain of parks. The Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority project started nearly two decades ago as a study on the site's vacant portion. Over the years, we have worked closely with the agency, designing dozens of schemes for evaluation, including the current plan to situate the 340,000-square-foot facility to occupy as little land as possible, resulting in a compact, yet efficient, facility that enabled the MBTA to donate eight acres of land for a neighborhood park.
