To assist four residential neighborhoods in High Point, North Carolina, with troubling flooding and stream bank instability, we prepared stormwater inventory of the local drainage system and developed watershed studies, including preliminary construction cost estimates and neighborhood public relations assistance. Our Best Management Practices (BMPs) addressed flood reduction with pipe system improvements, and underground storage and channel stabilization. As part of an amendment to the original contract we also prepared a preliminary engineering report and design documents to implement our recommended improvements to reduce flooding, increase roadway level of service, and avoid downstream adverse impacts during rain events.
