Creating a Collaborative Working Environment

The entryway’s wooden wall was recycled from an old fence and highlights our workplace principles.

The main reception area and two supporting conference rooms are located along the primary lobby.

Glass-enclosed offices line the perimeter with floor-to-ceiling exterior and interior windows that facilitate daylighting, and low-partitioned cubicles allowing natural light to flow throughout the office.

Shared work tables between cubicles support interoffice collaboration.

A kitchen, break area, and teaming room are available on the floor's southern end.

Group space on the floor's western end is large enough to host community-based association meetings, yet inviting enough to facilitate small-group brainstorming.

We updated the circa-1980 elevator lobby and restrooms to meet lighting and emergency exit requirements.

Repurposed office furniture was rebuilt, new products were specifically chosen based on the presence of recycled content, and a new LED lighting system automatically dims based on daylight and occupancy.

When moving our central Florida office to the tenth floor of an existing high-rise office building in the North Quarter of Downtown Orlando, we prioritized collaboration by designing a free-flowing space using sustainable methods, materials, and technology.

large open studios

One of the main challenges was fitting more than 100 office staff previously spread across nearly 20,000 square feet into a single 17,500-square-foot floor. Our compact design used the building's simple east-to-west core to create two large open studios to the north and south. By locating glass offices on the outer edges of each studio, we were able to take advantage of natural daylighting and 360 degree views of downtown Orlando.

Both studios are column-free with no dead-end corridors, and movable counters between each cubicle provide space for collaboration.
