When a nor'easter caused Rainbow Lake in Pittsgrove, New Jersey, to overtop Route 56, NJDOT called us to design the $4.5 million emergency repairs. Working over weekends and holidays, we designed the repairs in four weeks, which ultimately resulted in reopening the bridge six weeks ahead of schedule. We developed a complex detour route and signage scheme that allowed the project to proceed concurrently with adjacent work, while minimizing impacts to the community.
