Motivated by local, state, and commercial interest in revitalizing the Trenton waterfront, we were asked to study the feasibility of reclaiming the Delaware River waterfront by providing access to the shore and parks along the river to promote economic development and downtown revitalization. We evaluated the issue of the barrier formed by Route 29 and developed an urban design plan involving a boulevard, street network and land use changes.
