We worked closely with environmental consultant LandStudies, Inc. and the PGA TOUR to optimize the golf course development while creating a stable and self-sustaining stormwater management system.

By renovating and restoring Rock Run and two of its tributaries that flow through the course, we connected the restored channel with a functional floodplain.

The stream restoration effort added many species of trees, shrubs, grasses, and aquatic plants, which served to stabilize banks and filter run-off through the floodplain.

In addition to the stream restoration, 12 acres of new wetlands buffer the course and enhance drainage, with stormwater entering the marsh rather than submerging the course.

The completion of our highly acclaimed, environmentally sensitive restoration enabled professional golf to return to TPC Potomac at Avenel Farm in 2010. The championship-caliber golf course in Montgomery County, Maryland, hosted tour events for nearly 20 years until closing in 2007 to address chronic flooding issues along with other significant upgrades.
