We helped the West Virginia Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Management complete a total update of the West Virginia Statewide All-Hazards Mitigation Plan. The plan provided a new vulnerability assessment for natural hazard rankings based on population vulnerability and density, property and crop damage, and past hazard events. These vulnerabilities, overlaid with a social vulnerability analysis, allowed the State Mitigation Council to develop prioritized mitigation actions to reduce the state's exposure to natural hazards.
